We Sport: Kick-off meeting in Conversano

One of the projects we are working hard on is We Sport. Its aim is to promote the concept “Sport has no gender” to help more participation in sports without fear of being labeled, judged or discriminated against.

The kick-off meeting of the project was held on March 27th in  Conversano, Italy which is an ancient town and commune in the Metropolitan City of Bari. Our host was ASD Handball Conversano Femminile which is rooted in the Conversano community. The traditions of teamwork and discipline transcend generations within the community; the Conversano handball team is in the top 3 best performing teams on national level.

As a leader of the following activities Mundus Association had to take over the organization of the round tables with target groups – coaches and teachers. Our work in the coming months will be aimed at creating a Toolkit based on ETS (Education through sport) methodology and workshops promoting gender inclusivity and breaking down gender stereotypes.

A project with a lot of meaning and opportunities for future positive practices in education and sports.
