On 25th of November, Mundus Bulgaria had the pleasure to host the kick-off meeting of the MINDPLAY project. The partners came together in Sofia, Bulgaria to discuss the management of the project and outline next steps in its implementation.
MINDPLAY’s main objective is to address the unmet mental healthcare needs of young people in Europe by introducing them to team sports as means to foster social inclusion, understanding and solidarity, and providing sport coaches with tools to detect young people with mental health problems. Hence, Mundus Bulgaria’s work in the upcoming months will be aimed at creating a Well-Being Training Program and an open-source online Training Platform for coaches based on ETS (Education Through Sport) methodology. The educational value of the Training Program will be put into practice during an International Volleyball Match in Lithuania in September next year.
As the MINDPLAY consortium combines various expertise in the fields of mental health, sports and education, all partners are positive for the impact of this project. We believe that it will contribute to creating a supportive network for young people with mental health issues and enhancing their well being, both physically and mentally.
