Our Food4Thought campaign continues! On April 22nd, we brought together a wonderful group of 11 young people for an urban gardening workshop at the cozy community space Magnit Rakovski in Sofia.
We kicked things off by introducing the Food4Thought project and showing off the project’s interactive educational platform. Then it was time to get inspired — we watched two of the project’s YouTube tutorials on planting lettuce (for quicker harvest) and hot pepper (for the more patient gardeners).
What was next was the real action! We learned how to carefully sow our tiny seeds and create just the right conditions for them to thrive. We also gave a second life to some store-bought basil by splitting and repotting it, giving it more space to grow!
Our group was as diverse as our plants — from experienced green thumbs to excited beginners. Together, we shared tips, laughs, and even gave our new plants special names.
We are grateful for this experience and hope to have planted the seed of excitement for urban gardening in our participants’ hearts. We are looking forward to seeing their lovely plants’ growth!
