The Mundus Bulgaria team recently hosted the third edition of our training course “Sustainability: Growing with Care”, held from the 8th to the 14th of June in Sofia, Bulgaria.
On the first day, 21 participants from 6 countries gathered to begin this amazing journey. We kicked things off with ice-breakers and getting-to-know-you activities to help the group bond.
On the second day, 9th of June, we dived into the world of Erasmus+ and explored different European initiatives and opportunities for young people. In the afternoon, our trainers Domi and Emi guided the group in setting community guidelines, followed by a teamwork-focused Sports Tournament workshop led by Kate.
Tuesday was fully dedicated to the three pillars of sustainability. Guided by our expert Kate, the group started the day with interactive discussions and continued with case studies of NGOs facing real sustainability challenges. The highlight of the day was a simulation activity, where participants stepped into the roles of CEOs and consultants to come up with creative solutions to the NGOs issues. After a long and insightful day, everyone relaxed at our cultural night, where participants from Spain, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, and Türkiye showcased their vibrant cultures through traditional food, drinks, music, and fun games.
The fourth day of our training was all about exploring – in the first half, participants explored the game-based learning, and in the second half, they explored the hidden gems of Sofia with Emi.
Thursday was dedicated to innovation and creativity. Domi led several youth-focused workshops on Design Thinking methodology and helped participants dive into the process of using it to shape and implement their ideas.
On the final day, participants presented their project ideas and had the chance to exchange expertise, experiences, and warm emotions before saying goodbye.
We are grateful to all our participants for being part of this inspiring project! We hope that the meaningful time we spent together has equipped them with the knowledge and tools needed to grow and drive sustainable change in their communities.
