GREW is a project focused on mitigating ethnic discrimination by empowering ethnic communities through sport. All partners in the consortium have extensive expertise in promoting Education Through Sport methodology (ETS) and are looking forward to building upon it while completing the ambitious targets set for GREW.
The Kick-off meeting focused on breaking down the project and clarifying all the deliverables. As a specialist in ETS and previous similar projects, Mundus Bulgaria will be responsible for producing a Training Format that contains a collection of educational modules on ETS. This Training Format will be used by youth workers and community leaders to empower members of ethnic communities. All partners will be engaging with ethnic minorities in their local areas to organise sport tournaments. The priority of those events will be engagement and empowerment of the participants so that they feel encouraged to continue the sporting initiative themselves.
On the other hand, these events will be a great way to gather practical experience that will be reflected in the Training Format and contribute to a final Handbook produced by MV International. This Handbook is planned to be a great resource for preventing discrimination and racism among young people.
All partners are now focused on laying the groundwork with setting up a logo and a webpage. More news to follow soon!
