POWER

POWER: Transnational Partners Meeting in Cascais, Portugal

The second transnational partner meeting of the POWER project took place on 18 and 19 September 2025 in Cascais, Portugal. Partners from Portugal, Greece, Italy, Bulgaria, Spain and Hungary came together for the event. During the meeting, ANCE presented the progress made in project management, the key activities completed and the main future tasks, including developing a media strategy and updating the guidelines to promote equal representation of women in sport.

The SEA team presented the outcomes of the research phase, emphasising the significance of cultural context and the role of women in management roles within the media. The partners agreed to write a scientific article based on the analyses and planned to submit it by the end of 2025. UFEC presented the next steps in developing the project guidelines, after which the partners were assigned specific tasks involving the analysis and collection of relevant documents from European and international institutions.

The second day was devoted to communicating and disseminating results. BAIS and ANCE presented successful social media campaigns and promotional materials, as well as planned podcasts featuring interviews with female athletes and journalists. The importance of having an active online presence and creating a joint YouTube channel for the project was emphasised.

The Mundus Bulgaria team participated actively in the discussions and will contribute its analysis of European Parliament documents, as well as helping to prepare podcasts. This meeting in Cascais was a valuable step forward in our joint work on POWER, contributing to the effective coordination of future activities aimed at achieving fairer media representation of women in sport.
