The project “EU Horizon 2040: Youth Summits for Europe’s Future” (EUH40) was officially launched during a two-day kick-off meeting held on 27–28 May in Tenerife, Spain. The event marked the beginning of an initiative aimed at fostering the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and perspectives on the future priorities and challenges facing European Union policies. The project creates structured spaces for transnational dialogue, enabling young people to actively contribute to shaping the future of European integration.
Representatives of the five partner organisations gathered in Tenerife to officially launch the project and plan the initial stages of its implementation. The EUH40 partnership brings together a strong and complementary consortium with extensive experience in youth engagement, education, and European cooperation. The project partners are IFOM (Italy), Mundus Bulgaria (Bulgaria), SPARK (Poland), LEARNING SEED (Greece), and ENID (Spain).
A key component of the meeting was the Facilitator Bootcamp, which prepared project teams for the upcoming activities. Participants explored topics related to diversity and inclusion, including intersectionality, privilege, stereotypes, prejudice, structural discrimination, and safeguarding measures to prevent discrimination.
In parallel, partners held a project coordination meeting to review progress, discuss ongoing tasks, and plan the next stages of implementation. The programme concluded with the international launch of the project, marking an important milestone and the beginning of its wider dissemination and engagement activities.
The two-day meeting proved highly productive. In addition to clarifying the project’s technical and organisational framework, it contributed to building a strong team spirit and a shared vision among the partners. The official launch of the project was successfully carried out and brought together participants with diverse ideas and perspectives, which will later be incorporated into the Youth Vision Declaration.
The project’s opening event in Bulgaria will take place on 30 June at 18:00 at the Manit Community Space. During the event, participants will be introduced to the project and invited to discuss the key priorities and challenges facing European Union policies.
