This previous week (20-25 of March) we took part in an international brainstorming session, hosted by our Polish partners, Regional Volunteer Center in Kielce. Our team member – along with 3 other participants from Kardzhali, Bulgaria – travelled to Poland to produce videos needed for the vetsLAB Toolbox for teachers and trainers.
At the beginning of the week, we went over what needs to be done and discussed ideas. Having such a diverse group in nationality and experience, there were a lot of ideas to discuss. We worked in international teams consisting of Bulgarians, Italians, Poles, Spaniards, Austrians, and Romanians, all with various experience in the field of sport.
The groups were tasked with creating a video on the benefits of using sport as a tool for education. The challenge was to come up with exercises that could be done virtually, whilst also having an educational component, and promoting physical activity.
It was quite a feat, but by the end of the week we managed to complete the task with some time to spare. In between video-making sessions, the group was getting cultured on the city of Kielce, Polish customs and culture.
The week would not have been complete without a little cultural exchange, so we put aside some time to present our countries and what makes us proud. Bulgarians presented our pride and joy – the banitsa!
This week was necessary for our project to be completed. We are glad to be moving forward, and happy to have made friends along the way!
