Voices of Change

Project: Voices of Change
Number: 01146514-VOC-CERV-2023
Sector: CERV

Duration: 20 months (from July 2024- February 2026)

Aim of the project

In an increasingly interconnected world, the voices of young migrant women remain crucial yet often unheard in shaping policies that directly impact their lives. The “Voices of Change” (VOC) project emerges as a response to this pressing need, aiming to empower and amplify the voices of these young women across Europe. By fostering active participation, intercultural dialogue, and policy engagement, VOC strives to create a more inclusive and democratic European Union,  where the perspectives of all its residents are valued and considered.

The project is also a follow up of the CONSULTING EUTH (AMIF) project concluded on 31/12/2023 and whose results have been approved by European Commission. One of its aims is enhancing the results and the Consultative body created during its implementation so all youth that composed that Consultative body will be contacted to join the activities if interested, involving them in webinars.

Activities

  • establishing a European Consultative Body for Migrant Girls Civic Engagement to champion the democratic participation of young migrant girls, providing them with a platform to engage in meaningful dialogue and contribute to policy discussions
  • facilitate close collaboration between migrant girls and girls from European partner countries
  • generate actionable recommendations for local authorities and EU decision-makers, focusing on the inclusion of young girls with a migratory background in decision-making processes, while emphasizing the critical aspect of intersectionality.

Expected results

  • The project will provide a space for these young girls to actively participate in  decision-making processes related to women policies within the Consultative Body.
  • By involving them in policy discussions, their voices, perspectives, and experiences will be valued, empowering them to contribute to shaping policies that directly impact women with migration backgrounds.
  • Through the project and the participation to the 13 training sessions, participants will have the opportunity to enhance their skills in policy analysis, advocacy, public   speaking, and networking.
  • Their inclusion will foster a more inclusive and comprehensive understanding of migration-related issues, leading to more informed and effective policy development.
