On 11 December 2025, Mundus Bulgaria attended the 2025 Erasmus+ Sport Info Day in Brussels, Belgium. The organisation’s president, Denitsa Andonova, and Kristin Valentinova, a sports project coordinator, joined the largest Info Day and networking event in the Erasmus+ world.

The event was attended by over 700 people from across Europe and beyond at the beautiful Charlemagne building of the European Commission in the heart of Brussels, with many more joining online. This is the third time that Mundus Bulgaria has sent representatives to this event, which offers a wonderful opportunity to get the latest information on the Erasmus+ Sport programme and to meet organisations and institutions working in the field.

The event began with a welcome address and a panel discussion featuring Sophie Beernaerts, Director of the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA); Glenn Micallef, European Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport; Bogdan Andrzej Zdrojewski, Member of the European Parliament; and Vassos Koutsidoundas, representing the Cyprus Sports Organisation.

The following sessions focused on informative content regarding the Erasmus+ Sport programme, including key topics and themes, programme priorities, sector trends, project types and grant funding, eligibility criteria and changes to the application process. This information is useful not only for newcomers to the field, but also for more experienced organisations such as Mundus Bulgaria, as it provides an overview of any new additions and priorities for the upcoming 2026 period.

The event also provided a networking opportunity for organisations and institutions of all kinds, including NGOs, sports organisations, universities, municipal bodies and volunteer organisations. Representatives of these organisations could schedule meetings between sessions or strike up a conversation during coffee breaks. This gave them the opportunity to get to know each other, explore potential collaborations and discuss concrete project ideas.

We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of the vast Erasmus+ community, attend such events and meet incredible professionals from all over Europe and beyond. It is a privilege to be able to exchange ideas and work together to create better formal and non-formal learning opportunities for young people and people of all ages!

Stay tuned as we launch two brand new long-term sports projects in 2026! In the meantime, take a look at some of the sports projects we have worked on or are currently working on – BOOST, WeSport, GREW, FAMS, VSport, Sport & NFE, Building Healthy Communities, Changing Opportunities.
